A cover letter that matches your CV and the job you are applying for
Upload your CV, paste the job posting, and CVamp drafts both a tailored CV and a cover letter that speaks to that specific role — using only the experience you actually have. Your first tailored CV is free.

How CVamp writes your cover letter
The letter is generated in the same step as your tailored CV, from the same two inputs: the posting and your own history.
It reads the actual posting
Paste the job description or its link. CVamp picks out what the employer is really asking for — the responsibilities, the tools, the phrasing they use — instead of writing a generic letter that could go anywhere.
It draws only on your CV
The letter is built from the experience already in the CV you uploaded, so the two documents tell one consistent story. No new employers, dates, qualifications or numbers appear out of nowhere.
It sounds like you
The draft follows the tone already in your CV rather than stacking corporate buzzwords, and there are no emojis or decorative symbols anywhere in the output.
You edit before it leaves
The draft appears next to your tailored CV, fully editable. Change a sentence, cut a paragraph, add the detail only you know, then download the PDF.
Nothing is fabricated
A cover letter is only useful if you can defend every line of it in the interview. CVamp never invents employers, job titles, dates, certifications or metrics. Where the posting asks for something your CV does not support, the letter leaves it alone rather than manufacturing evidence for it.
You always see your original CV next to the tailored version, and both the CV and the cover letter are fully editable before you export.
See a tailored CV before signing upWhat a good cover letter for a CV looks like
- Addressed to the specific role, not "To whom it may concern"
- One page, three or four short paragraphs
- Uses the posting's own wording where your experience genuinely fits
- Adds context to your CV instead of repeating it
- No invented achievements, numbers or qualifications
- Plain, professional formatting with no icons or emojis

Common questions
What should a cover letter for a CV include?
A short opening naming the role and where you saw it, two or three paragraphs connecting your real experience to what the posting asks for, and a brief closing with your contact details. It should add context to your CV, not repeat it.
Do I still need to edit it?
Read it before you send it. The draft is a strong starting point built from your own history, but the detail only you know — why this employer, what you want next — is worth adding in your own words.
Is it free?
